External Housecleaning Tips

There are thousands of hints available for cleaning the inside of your house, but what about external cleaning? After all, the outside of your home is the first thing guests will see before they even set foot into your home. When cleaning the outside of your home, what steps should you take in order to present your home in the best way?

The first thing you should do is rent a power washer. You should power wash your house at least once a year so that you can examine the outside of our home. This is very easy and only takes about half an hour. While you are washing the house, you may notice peeling paint on the trim or others things that may need to be fixed. Once you have finished power washing the house, you can then address those problems.

Your windows should also be cleaned at this point. It used to be very difficult to clean the outside of your windows, but many changes have been made to make this task easier. New windows now tip out from the inside to allow you to clean the outside of the window from the inside of your home. If you do not have these windows, you can purchase window cleaning fluid that attaches to your hose. You can then spray your windows with the cleaning solution in order to easily wash the outside of your windows.

You will also need to take a look at the area around your garage. Many people allow this area to be cluttered with garbage cans, recycling bins, and other assorted debris. The first thing you will need to do is address any debris. This is unsightly and impresses upon your guests that the inside of your home may be dirty and cluttered. Once you have removed any debris. Take a few minutes to make sure your garbage cans and recycling bins are in good condition. If they are not, replace them. Take the time to clean them and arrange them neatly along the side of the garage.

You will also need to clean your yard. Pick up any branches or clutter that is in your yard. Take a look at your bushes and trees. Do they need pruning? If so, this is a very easy task. If any are dead, take the time to remove them from your property. Also, weed any garden area you may have. This will make your yard appear clean and tidy. You should finish by mowing your lawn and doing any edging work.

Cleaning the outside of your home is essential. After all, no one wants the friends and neighbors to think they are dirty. It only takes one afternoon in order to thoroughly clean the outside of your home.
