Storage – Things You’d Rather Not Leave Laying Around
If you follow weird news stories you are probably always amazed at how strange your fellow human beings can be. Like the guy who was run over in his own pickup when his dog got behind the wheel of the truck. Not sure who was drunk in that scenario the man or the dog. Or the woman who shot herself in the shoulder to get emergency medical care in the ER for a shoulder twinge; I guess it hurts a lot more now. Of course some weird news is just bizarre, like the people who use self storage units to store the bodies of people they have killed. Remember the woman who put her dead babies in suitcases and kept the mummified bodies in storage until she stopped paying he bill and the contents were sold at auction? I’m sure no one wanted to be the guy who opened that suitcase and then the next suitcase and the next suitcase.
We are fascinated by weird news stories because they are so bizarre but at the same time it confirms what we always believed, if it can be done someone- somewhere will do it. This of course does not mean that every dog dreams of running over their owner with the family car. Or that the best way to get treated for a pulled muscle is to shoot yourself, or even that the best place to store a body to avoid being arrest is in a self storage unit.
Seriously there are some very good reasons to use a self storage unit and not just to store bodies you are trying to hide. Most people- those who don’t make the weird news round up or have their mug shot spread across the local newspaper- use self storage units to keep things that they don’t have room for but anticipate a future need for like camping gear, sporting equipment or patio furniture. Self storage units are a great way to keep your life organized and rotate seasonal items in and out without having to get rid of things and replace them yearly because of space constrictions.
Self storage units are also a great resource when it comes time to move. Sometimes there can be a delay between moving out of place A and getting into place B especially if you are buying a home and are stuck with a small window of wait time that isn’t long enough to get a rented home to wait it out. Using a self storage center is a great solution to short term or long term storage needs and they are generally very secure with locking gates, access codes to enter, security cameras in place and live onsite managers so your property is in theory safer in storage than in your own home.
Just whatever you do, pay your bill especially if you are going to use your storage unit to store strange things like bodies. No body wants to find that.
