Home and office interior design Looked At

When deciding on hues for your personal home, decide for the overall feel you need your home to possess. If you choose an exceptionally dramatic home, an exceptionally subdued home, are you going which has a particular design model? All these issues aspect into a colour plan. http://www.pro-design-interiors.com/

My house feels cold, how do I warm it up to generate it experience like a home?

A house becomes a home when warmth is added. Adding warmth is relatively easy. Colours for the walls, plants and trees, no matter whether they’re actual or artificial, clustering accessory products, place rugs if needed, and adding pictures all include to the comfort amount of warmth. Produce intimate seating places in much larger rooms, pull the furnishings away form the walls to far better fit the areas, and hang your fine art at eye viewing place. All these guidelines assist build an intimacy to your home and thereby generating warmth. http://www.pro-design-interiors.com/Interior_Design_Made_Easy.html

Do I need to have a sectional sofa, a sofa and really like seat, or 2 sofas?

This is one of the most regularly asked concerns. The amount of seating , how you use the seating, and room sizing, will establish the solution to this question. Though watching Tv , numerous men and women prefer to “stretch” out on their sofas, so usually I would recommend a sectional sofa, as big a configuration as probable.

Measure your room and investigate the schematics with the sectional you’d like to obtain. Pick out a long-lasting, heavy weight cloth, and you also must be great to go. Sectionals are usually not as formal as one sofas but there practical application is considerably superior, should the room allows.

If room is a small tight, once again take the place measurements, check out the upholstery schematics and purchase the biggest sofas, or sofa really like seat combination accessible for the space.. Several periods manufactures have diverse size sofas available inside design you desire, so make guaranteed to ask. Solitary sofas have a considerably easier transfer application when moving to a brand new residence, exactly where as sectionals are often acquired for any specific arrangement.

The infamous “I have this a single place in my house that I just do not know what to complete with” issue.

As quickly as anyone finds out my profession, that statement right away comes out of their mouth. It absolutely appears to be all people has a equivalent “spot” somewhere in their home. http://www.office-chairs-information.com/

This specific “spot” would seem to play no important part within their on a daily basis life, but looks to bother them much more than the neighbors ugly lawn ornament. Because the “spot ” has no apparent use, then then deal with it accordingly. Discover a whimsical item that’s fun and scaled on the area. Numerous occasions when purchasing, you’ll see an accent item and question “I really enjoy that item, but where would I use it?”.

The “spot” is typically perfect for this piece. The easiest way to handle the “spot” even though, is basically to fill it with a tiny scaled plant or tree.

The home place of work vs. the guest area, which is best?

The solution to this dilemma is which a single will get additional use on an everyday basis. Unless you reside in a very resort town and good friends and spouse and children are searching for low-cost accommodations, I commonly vote for that home office environment.

Pink in the Foyer: Beautiful Vintage Backdrop

Published by under Painting

Although you might not immediately think of pink when you think of foyers, it can actually be a great color choice. Not only is it warm and inviting, but it also can provide the perfect backdrop for a vintage decorating style. Because there are so many variations of the pink shade, you’ll find plenty of options when using it in the foyer. If you’re ready to add a beautiful decorator touch to your home, here are some decorating ideas that will have your foyer “in the pink” in no time.

Choosing the Perfect Shade of Pink
Because there are so many variations of pink, it can sometimes be difficult to choose the perfect shade. Because foyers usually look best when they coordinate and blend smoothly with the rest of the home, you can often get some color pointers from your other rooms. For example, if the foyer area leads into the living room, look around to see what colors are being used there. Touches of mauve in a wallpaper pattern, the soft pink of a vase of roses depicted in a piece of wall art, or the shade of flowers that you frequently cut from your own garden to display in the living room can all provide inspiration. If your home is decorated in a vintage fashion, the softer colors of pink generally work best. Soft dusty rose, mauve or even pink shades that have burgundy undertones can all be great choices. Even if you don’t use a lot of pink in the rest of your home’s decor, you can still use it effectively in the foyer. For example, if you use a lot of brown and beige in the living room area, you can add a splash of color by painting the foyer seashell pink. Pull the colors visually together by adding wall art that includes both brown and pink colors for a decorator touch.

Adding a Vintage Decorating Touch
Pink just seems to have a warmth that naturally looks great with vintage decor. In fact, many of your vintage accessories may even include touches of pink. A beautiful pink rose china pattern, a tapestry pillow, or antique rose-colored glassware can all be used as the inspiration for a vintage-styled room. By using pink as a backdrop for these items, you’ll be able to effectively call more attention to their beauty. Instead of matching the color exactly, try going one or two shades lighter or darker to add an interesting visual contrast. Muted shades of pink and rose can often work especially well when combined with a vintage decorating style.

Foyer Decorating Tips
When creating a vintage look in the foyer, small decorating touches can make all the difference. An antique hat hung on a wall rack, a few vintage knick-knacks on the table, or a framed antique photograph or print can add a nice touch. Instead of choosing a new table or stand for the foyer, check out antique shops, second hand furniture shops or even flea markets and garage sales for vintage finds to add an authentic touch.

Residential Painting – Tips and Techniques to Resolve Painting Troubles

Published by under Painting

There are innumerable problems that can happen with any painted walls. It may occur on newly newly colored surface or it can happen with time. The ultimate technique to avoid these untoward painting problems is to know preventative steps which occur before applying a new color. Below are usual coloring troubles and the corresponding tips on how to handle them.

One problem that usually happens is what we call the blocking. It’s when two colored surfaces are fastened together which is not the end result you want like sticking of the door to the jam. This takes place because the color did not wholly dry prior to closing the door. Another reason is the use of latex colored with inferior grade. In addition to providing more time for drying, a better option is to use a color of higher quality or look for semi-gloss acrylic latex color. More often than not, the grade of latex color is proportional to its cost. The higher the grade, the more money you need to shell out. Spending money on quality color is a lot better than spending for low grade paints plus the possibility of back job costs.

Have you seen a wall that appears to be overly glossy in some areas? That is what you call burnishing. The cause of this is too much brushing or rubbing of the wall abrasively. This doesn’t happen on newly painted walls but it happens over time especially on areas with high traffic. You will notice that when a fixture or any equipment is rubbed against a painted wall, there will be glossy areas. The culprit for this is the use of flat paint without scrub resistance. So for spots that needs frequent cleaning, the best way is to use a semi-gloss or gloss paint. Cleaning walls painted with gloss paints can easily be done using soft cleaning material such as sponge. Also when cleaning, always rinse the area with clean water.

There is also what we call sagging which happens right after applying the paint. It’s when the paint seems to droop giving an uneven depth of paint. There are a number of reasons why this problem occurs. It may be due to applying excessive paint or having a paint coat which is too thick. When using a spray gun, application of paint with gun too close on the wall can also result to this problem. Another reason which we can never change is the weather condition. Too humid or too cold weather conditions can fasten sagging of paint. Solution for this lies on the way the paint is applied. During the process of painting, promptly reroll the brush when you see an uneven area. At times when you feel it’s too late and the paint has dried a bit, sand the uneven spot gently and apply an additional coat of paint. To really avoid this problem, apply enough paint sufficient for that spot and not mound the paint on the wall.

Nobody wants those residential paint problems to happen. If you wish to do your painting project rather than having a professional do it, take some time to read and study some basics of painting. Preventive measure is always better than finding a solution for a given problem.

So if you want to equip yourself more about resolving any painting problems, hire a residential painters and learn with him. A wonderful resource to find Milwaukee house painters is strykercontractingservicesllc.com. Invest on professional painters and get awed with admirable output.

Spray Pattern Guns Are the Perfect Tool for Hobby and Finishing Needs

Published by under Painting

Hobbyists, automobile enthusiasts, and trim paint artists would all agree on one thing: owning the appropriate spray pattern gun is essential for obtaining the perfect results on the project you are working on.

A spray pattern gun may be the difference between a simple paint job and a truly artistic creation, depending on what kind of project is being worked on.

The Paasche Talon spray pattern gun is the ideal tool for delicate or diminutive paint jobs such as adding lines to a car or motorcycle or adding detail to a model railway. The Paasche Talon accomplishes this due to its gravity-fed airbrush system that can provide amazing detail from minute linear graphics to sprays up to 1.5 inches in width. This pattern gun can be used in an array of ways, from automobile detailing, graphic arts, fingernail designs, temporary tattoos, and so forth.

If the project being worked requires a more sizeable application, such as painting or refinishing a vehicle, a bigger spray gun would be necessary. Guns such as these are generally referred to as High-Volume-Low-Pressure (HVLP) spray paint guns and are available in a variety of styles and have an assortment of accessories based on what they will be used for. Fuji makes a HVLP spray gun called the Pressurized G-Xpc. This gun is gravity-fed and does not bleed which makes it ideal for paining automobiles. It delivers paint via a gravity feed rather than via air pressure which prevents paint from bleeding or clogging the nozzle, resulting in a more even application. These spray guns often come with various accessories including spray caps of differing sizes. The size of the spray cap will determine the size of the actual spray of paint, from a wide paint mist to a more concise paint spray. These spray guns can generally hold one quart of paint but adding a hose and adapter can increase the capacity of the gun, if desired. Larger spray guns such as these are utilized in a myriad of ways, from painting and staining houses or decks, spraying vehicles, and even applying artificial tanning agents to the entire body.

Any industry can use a spray hopper gun, from commercial establishments to amateur or personal use. Simply decide which type of spray gun will suit your needs and buy it, as every model and style is obtainable by anyone.

Try New Painting Techniques

Published by under Painting

If you are planning to paint a room in your home, consider using one of the many different painting techniques rather than simply applying a coat of paint to the whole room. One of the most fun techniques to apply is the sponging on technique. Sponging on is one of the easiest methods of painting out there, so anyone can do it. If you don’t want to breathe in any harsh fumes, check your local store for non-toxic glazes.

With the sponging on technique you can give your room texture and depth all while using a simple sea sponge that you can find at your local hardware store. Before you get started you should make sure to tape off all surfaces that you don’t want to get paint on them. The first step is to paint the entire room whatever color that you want the base coat to be. A great neutral base color is a light gray in a satin finish in latex paint. You will want to let this coat of paint dry overnight. The paint that you will be sponging on should be darker in color than the base coat. You could use just about any color that will go with the light gray. You could use a dark blue, sage green or even a light yellow. If you want to mix some liquid glazes in with your paint you could do that as well. This will add a slightly different effect.

Before you begin your sponging, you should definitely practice on some sort of board first. You don’t want to jump straight into this project only to find that you don’t like what you are doing. While it is only paint and you can paint right over it, you don’t want to waste your time doing extra work. Once you have practiced enough to get the hang of your technique it is time to begin. One great tip when working with a sea sponge is that you should brush the paint onto the sponge, rather than dipping the sponge into the can of paint. You can now start sponging the paint onto the wall. Don’t press too hard on the wall. Keep your touch light so that the sponge pattern still remains. While you are working with the sponge you should also keep it rotating. This way you will always be changing the pattern that is appearing on the wall. Overlapping your blotting will also keep your wall from becoming a consistent pattern. The idea with sponging is to keep the paint on the wall a completely random array of paint. If you feel the sponge is becoming overloaded with paint, wash the sponge out and start over. While this might be different from working with raku glazes, it’s really not all that different.

Working with paint on the wall is not much different from working with a canvas. To get started on any art project with non-toxic glazes or raku glazes, visit AMACO. Whatever liquid glazes you might need AMACO is the place to find them. Your room will look completely different with a visit to AMACO!

Secret Painting Tool Tips That Work Every Time

Published by under Painting

I have a question for you, just how much time have you spent at the home store trying to figure out which, (if any) of the “handy dandy” paint accessories actually will save you time and money? I’ll bet you’ve even tried a couple of them and been discouraged.

You are not alone……

This is number 2 in a series of 3 articles that I’ll explain honestly what has worked for me over the years and why it well worth the small amount of extra time and money in order to have the finished product you truly want and deserve.

Let’s talk about paint rollers and how to make them your friend and work for you, not against you!

Roller Covers:

Here’s another area where your choices are natural or synthetic.

Generally speaking the synthetics are for water based and the natural for oil based. The nap of the roller cover will vary from very short for smooth surfaces and finishes, to very long and thick for rough surfaces. Think smooth plaster and cement block or rough stucco.

The natural roller covers are lamb’s wool and mohair and they are expensive. But if you take care of them, make sure they are washed out completely and “fluffed” to dry, they will last a very long time. I use the natural wool roller cover with water based paints with excellent results, and wouldn’t change to a synthetic cover.

How to Load a Roller:

Chances are you will be using a paint tray instead of a big 5 gallon bucket, so that’s what we’ll be addressing here.

A convenient option is to buy a metal paint tray and a package of disposable paint tray liners. That way, when you are finished with a color, you simply set that tray aside and move on to the next. When the paint on the liner is dry, it can be thrown in the trash. (as long as it’s water based paint)

Here’s a Real Tip: Before you touch the paint with the roller, lightly wet the roller with water. This will help the paint evenly “stick” to the roller for better coverage, and best of all the roller cover will be WAY easier to clean!

Fill the roller tray halfway with paint, set the roller into the middle of the well, lift out and roll down the slope two or three times to work in and even out the paint. Dip the roller into the well one more time and repeat on the slope. Roller should be saturated but not dripping.

Roll On:

Apply paint in 2 to 3 foot squares. You are basically going to go over the area 3 times with one load of paint. Paint a zigzag (M or W) pattern using medium pressure, without lifting the roller from the wall, then fill in the blank areas, smoothing as you go. Now go back and forth over the same area, again medium pressure. Finally go up and down one more time.

Reload the roller and move to the next square. Remember to overlap the previous section slightly. Always work into wet areas. This will prevent seams. Work out from the first square until the whole wall is finished.

When it’s time to clean the roller, (assuming water based paint) bring the whole thing to a laundry sink, work out as much paint under running water as possible then pull the cover from the handle. Then, still under running water work the rest of the paint out of the roller cover. When you can squeeze the cover and clear water runs out you’re done. Shake off the residue and fluff the roller cover.

If you are in a situation where you are unable to get to water or time is an issue, tightly cover the roller in a plastic bag till you can get it cleaned.

I know this may sound sophomoric, but honestly following these steps will give you a finished paint project you’ll be proud to show off. In fact, your friends might even ask you who did the work!

Ten Tips For Selecting Paint Colors

Published by under Painting

1. Avoid choosing paint colors first as there are so many choices. Start with a fabric, piece of art, or wallpaper sample which represents the color that you want to paint the room. Match your decorative item to a paint chip. It is much easier to match your item to the paint color than to select the paint color first.

2. Imitate the new color by taping up a piece of fabric or large paint sample in the corner of the room. From the doorway, telescope your hands so you can see the new color with no interruptions.

3. Once the color is selected, especially if it is a dark color, buy a small amount first and test it on each wall as the color may vary from wall to wall.

4. Check the paint color selections during the daylight hours and evening hours. If there appears to be a difference, base your decision on when the room is used most.

5. Keep in mind that different electric bulb types cast different results in the final hues. Always test your colors in the room(s) and under the bulb type where they will be used.. Incandescent bulbs give off a pink tinge which means that a peach tone may appear more pink; yellow will appear more orange; and blue will appear more purple. Fluorescent bulbs give off a blue tinge. They will make pinks appear more lavender; yellows appear greener; and greens look more aqua.

6. Generally, the more contrast there is in a room, the smaller it will look. When choosing colors from the same paint strip, stay within three colors on the strip. Small rooms like bathrooms can handle dark colors.

7. If you have an unusually long room, paint the shorter walls a darker shade to make the room appear more square.

8. To lower a high ceiling, paint the ceiling a darker color than the walls.

9. To raise a low ceiling, paint the ceiling a lighter color than the walls and consider painting the baseboards the same color as the walls.

10. When selecting paint colors take into consideration the temperature of the room to be painted. You should paint a bedroom that has a southern exposure a cool color like blue. Painting that room a warm color such as red or yellow will give the feeling of a very hot room. Likewise, rooms with northern exposures should be painted a warm color.
